Specific Competences:
CE 2 - (Basic Module, Core Subject 2). [English Language B1.3, English Language B2.1, English Language B2.2]. The student will have a high production and processing skills in both spoken and written English (B2.2), allowing nuances and shades of meaning in complex communicative situations as well as the reconstruction of information in non-specialized contexts.

Brief Outline:
This course emphasizes the fundamental language skills of reading, writing, speaking, and listening in English and prepares students to become independent users, i.e., they should acquire B2.1 level of proficiency in English (The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)
Requisitos
El alumnado cuyo nivel sea inferior al citado arriba deberá realizar un esfuerzo, por los medios que consideren más adecuados, para lograr alcanzar el nivel exigido y superar las pruebas de esta asignatura.

Contenido
Los contenidos serán fundamentalmente prácticos, y consistirán en actividades orientadas hacia el alcance de las competencias especificadas arriba. Asimismo, la asignatura contendrá contenidos léxicos y gramaticales correspondientes al nivel B1.3.

The course includes a wide range of activities aimed at helping the acquisition of the above-mentioned competences .The Grammar and Vocabulary to be studied corresponds to B1.3 level

Evaluation
The students' performance will be assessed all through the course. Attendance, assigments, oral presentations, etc. will be part of the final mark (30%) as well as a final test covering the four language skills at a B1.3 level of English (70%).

Methodology:
Lessons are aimed at practising spoken and written comprehension and production. They include reading of English texts followed by debates in groups and oral presentations as well as listening practice. Sessions in the Language Laboratory and new technologies offer a wide variety of activities to help acquire the required level of English.
