Requisitos
Objetivos
La asignatura Literaturas del yo en lengua inglesa tiene como objetivo estudiar y analizar la tradición de la escritura autobiográfica en lengua inglesa. Se llevará a cabo un estudio tanto diacrónico, que explore la evolución del género desde sus orígenes hasta la actualidad, así como sincrónico, esto es, analizando las diferentes manifestaciones y subgéneros del life writing, o escritura autobiográfica, como las memorias, el diario, el ensayo lírico, la autoficción, memoria gráfica, etc. Al final de esta asignatura, el estudiante será capaz de analizar textos complejos en relación a las diferentes expresiones del yo, de entender las implicaciones políticas, históricas y sociales de la construcción de dicho sujeto autobiográfico, y de aplicar conceptos teóricos a los textos estudiados.
The subject Life Writing in English aims to study and analyze the tradition of autobiographical writing in English. A diachronic study will be carried out, exploring the evolution of the genre from its origins to the present, as well as a synchronic study, that is, an analysis of the different manifestations and subgenres of life writing, or autobiographical writing, such as memoirs, diaries, lyric essays, autofiction, graphic memoir, etc. At the end of this course, the student will be able to understand complex texts in relation to the different expressions of the self, to understand the political, historical and social implications of the construction of the autobiographical subject, and to apply theoretical concepts to the assigned readings.

TEMA 2: El ensayo y la no ficción: visiones del mundo

TEMA 3: El memoir boom: canon y contra canon
Posibles lecturas: Mary Karr, Cheryl Strayed, Theresa Kyung Cha, Anne Boyer, Carmen Maria Machado.
TEMA 4: Formas de autoescritura experimental: la autoficción, el ensayo personal, la autoteoría y el ensayo lírico
